Ewing – Basketball T Shirts
For all intents and purposes, Ewing WAS the Knicks in the 90’s. This could be one of those basketball t shirts that you wear till it’s tattered and torn, just as Patrick Ewing played till he was tattered and torn, giving 110% on every play of his illustrious 17-year pro playing career.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, and playing college basketball at Georgetown where he became a college basketball legend, Patrick Ewing was drafted by the Knicks as the first overall pick in 1985. He was voted rookie of the year, and played for the team from 1985 to 2000, making eleven all-star teams.
Known simply as “Patrick”, Ewing led the team to the finals in the 1993-94 season vs. the Rockets and again in 1999 vs. the Spurs. Sadly, the team could not win the championship with him on the team, but even sadder that the team hasn’t come nearly as close since his retirement. In February of 2003, Ewing’s jersey #33 was retired by the Knicks at Madison Square Garden before a stand ovation. Right up there with Walt Frazier, Willis Reed and other Knick legends. he was chosen one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996.
Hopefully, Patrick will get a chance to be a head coach one of these years. We’ll be rooting for him regardless of where he ends up!
Arguably the greatest New York basketball professional of all time, we pay homage to the man, the myth, the legend, Paaaaaaaaaaaaaatrick Ewing!
